As I reflect on this campaign journey, I am filled with gratitude and inspiration. Though the results didn't turn out as I hoped, the experience has left me with an even stronger commitment to our schools and community.
Once again, I want to thank every single one of you who supported me--whether you cast a vote, shared my message, or encouraged me along the way. Your faith in a vision of equitable, opportunity-filled schools means the world to me. Together, we raised important discussions, shared ideas, and amplified the values that matter to us.
This campaign taught me so much. I had the privilege of speaking with families, students, teachers, and neighbors, each bringing unique perspectives on what makes our schools strong and where we can improve. Those conversations deepened my understanding of the community's hopes and challenges, and they reaffirmed my belief in what our schools can achieve with the right support.
Although I may not have a seat on the school board today, my dedication to education and our children remains unwavering. I am more motivated than ever to find ways to support our students, be it through local volunteer work, mentorship programs, or initiatives that promote equity and educational growth. I believe everyone has a role to play in shaping our schools, and I'm excited to continue advocating for positive change.
In the coming months, I plan to use this as a space to share insights on education, community involvement and ideas for building a stronger foundation for our schools. I hope you'll join me in these discussions, offer your perspectives, and together we'll keep the conversation going.
Thank you for standing with me on this journey. This campaign was one chapter, but I believe the best is yet to come. Let's keep moving forward together, toward a brighter future for every child in our community.
With gratitude and hope,
Leta Covington
